Safe Skin Care: Brown Sugar Body Polish
Summer is here and the skin is going to show, time to soften up and shine.
You will fall in love with what this homemade recipe will do for your legs and all over body. Being a fan of olive oil based products I put it to some great use by mixing it with dark brown sugar and 1/8 teaspoon of Lemon Essential oil. This is better than any spa treatment you will pay for or purchase.
Recipe:
1 cup dark brown sugar
Enough olive oil to moisten completely and have a little extra standing oil (use Cold-pressed, Extra Virgin)
1/6 to 1/8 teaspoon of Lemon Essential oil
Mix well with a fork (it helps so remove lumps of sugar), stand in your tubby or shower and begin scrubbing from neck to feet, including the bottoms of your feet (super softening for the heels). Rub it in good; it helps to have a friend around to scrub your center back, if not use a long handled sponge to reach the tough spots.
Rinse well with warm water and shower as usual if needed. Myself, once I have done this I simply wash my hair and I am done.
Your skin will glisten and be soooo incredibly soft and moisturized.
Active ingredients:
Sugar: antibacterial, Glycolic acid is derived from sugar cane, the sugar manually exfoliates the skin while you are rubbing, the natural glycolic chemical in the sugar adds to the exfoliation.
Sugar is also a hemectant, it draws moisture to the skin, as you are scrubbing, it opens up to drink in the beneficial treatment of the olive oil.
Olive Oil: antioxidant, soothes dry skin, rich in vitamin E which is a natural protector of the skin.
Lemon Oil: Cleanses, refreshes, cools and stimulates – and just smells wonderful!
NOTE:Please be very careful when wet, this can be slippery, a small towel to stand on when rinsing or a bath matte is recommended.
