Organic Garlic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing Recipe

I love salads – all types. And salads are an excellent way to get in daily servings of healthy veggies, fruits and even nuts and seeds. However, I love salads best when they include a healthy and homemade organic dressing. I find that, for me, many of the healthy and organic salad dressings in the stores and even online just do not fit my palate, thus I’ve wasted a lot of money trying them. This homemade, delicious, and Organic Garlic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing Recipe has become my go-to healthy salad dressing and I want to share it with my readers.

Health Benefits of Garlic

Garlic is so healthy and ideally we should be eating some on a daily basis. Most of us know that oxidative damage in the body leads to unwanted inflammation and inflammation is usually the beginning of most disease. It’s also this combination of unwanted inflammation and oxidative stress that places your blood vessels at risk of unwanted plaque formation and clogging. Garlic’s unique set of sulfur-containing compounds helps protect your body against both possibilities—oxidative stress and unwanted inflammation. Definitely a double positive!

Some of the other health benefits of garlic include: Help in cleansing harmful bacteria, intestinal parasites and viruses from your body, especially from the blood and intestines; helps cleanse build-up from the arteries; has anti-cancer and antioxidant properties that help detoxify the body of harmful substances; assists with cleansing the respiratory tract by expelling mucous build-up in the lungs and sinuses. Always choose fresh garlic — not garlic powder which is void of most of the health benefits mentioned.

And garlic is especially helpful for detoxification. A tiny amount of this strong-tasting white bulb has the ability to prompt liver enzymes that help your body flush out toxins. Garlic contains high amounts of vitamin C and is full of powerful antioxidants that protect the body and remove harmful free radicals from the bloodstream.

DID YOU KNOW? You can increase the health benefits of garlic by letting it sit after its been chopped or crushed. If you give your  chopped/crushed garlic time to sit before changing its temperature (through cooking) or its pH (through the addition of acidic food like lemon juice), it will give the alliinase enzymes in garlic an opportunity to work on behalf of your health.

Let’s get back to this delicious and healthy salad dressing recipe…

After tasting your homemade Organic Garlic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing Recipe, you can certainly modify as needed. We all have different tastes that we like better than others, so don’t feel bad if your first attempt is not to your liking. If it’s too tangy, add a little more raw honey to make it sweeter. More oil will make it milder, more balsamic will make it tangier, more honey will make it sweeter. The Dijon mustard is to “cut” the taste of the vinegar. Feel free to try a spicy Dijon mustard, if you like spicy.

In closing…

In the world in which we live, it’s very difficult to completely avoid toxins — especially in the food we consume. We have plenty of sources, such as toxins in our food and water, air pollution, secondhand smoke, vehicle emissions, personal and skin care products, cleaning products, airborne fungal spores, herbicides and pesticides – just to name a few. The good news is that a diet rich in healthy detox foods is one of the very best ways to maintain good health. However, even with the most pristine diet, toxins can still make their way into the body. As such, the importance of full body cleansing cannot be overstated. I recommend completing a full body cleanse at least two times every year – preferably in the spring and fall. The beginning step to any full body detox is a thorough oxygen colon cleanse, and Oxy-Powder® can help with that. Oxy-Powder is a scientifically formulated, safe, effective, all-natural colon cleaner that utilizes oxygen and magnesium to gently cleanse and detoxify your entire digestive tract.
